What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hostess-Kiltie (PT) position at THE GLENRIDGE ON PALMER RANCH?
Position Summary:
The Host or Hostess for The Kiltie is responsible for enthusiastically greeting Members and their guests upon arrival and seating them. The Host or Hostess is responsible for ensuring excellent service for Members and their guests and works to create a positive dining experience in this position. Offers Members and their guests an appropriate farewell as they leave the dining room or special event.
Responsibilities:
- Properly and warmly greet and seat all members and guests.
- Understanding - before each meal period - every menu item and special, well enough to answer diners’ questions.
- Assures proper set up for large parties in the dining rooms.
- Adheres to all safety policies & procedures of regulatory authorities and GPR.
- Maintains proper personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Attendance and participation in in-service training programs as necessary.
- Reporting of all hazardous conditions or equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Reporting of all accidents / incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains a high-quality level of service for Members and guests.
- Maintains confidentiality of members’ PHI (Protected Health Information) and medical records information as well.
- Other various duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent. Some experience in a large dining room as a host or hostess preferred.
2. Must have current Serve Safe Certification.
3. Skill in understanding of computer software as it relates to the job.
4. Excellent leadership skills.
5. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
7. Must be empathetic, enthusiastic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
