Position Summary:
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Pre-K Teacher Assistant to support our Lead Teacher in our Kindergarten-Readiness classroom for children ages 4–5 who will be entering kindergarten in the fall. The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, and genuinely enjoys helping children learn through hands-on exploration, early literacy experiences, and social-emotional development.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing a Pre-K curriculum designed to prepare students for kindergarten
- Engage children in learning activities that build early literacy, math readiness, problem-solving, and independence
- Foster positive peer relationships and guide children through conflict-resolution and social-emotional growth
- Supervise children to ensure safety and maintain DHS ratio requirements
- Assist with meals, rest time, toileting, and transitions throughout the day
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Collaborate with the teaching team to create a warm, supportive atmosphere
- Communicate positively and professionally with families and coworkers
Qualifications:
- Experience working with preschool-age children (childcare, preschool, nannying, camps, etc.) preferred
- Warm, friendly, and collaborative attitude
- Ability to sit on the floor, actively play, and move around throughout the day
- Willingness to learn Pre-K routines, expectations, and curriculum support strategies
- (Preferred but not required) RIELDS training, CDA, or Early Childhood coursework
- Must pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements

Schedule:
Full-time (4 or 5 day work schedule) specific shift discussed during interview.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
