Summary
The Natural Channel Sales Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving sales performance and strengthening customer and broker relationships nationally. Reporting to senior leadership, this role focuses on building, managing, and optimizing the 4Ps across The Ginger People portfolio in natural & specialty chains, coops, and independents. The Natural Channel Sales Manager is accountable for achieving annual sales targets while managing trade spending within company guidelines. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with strong relationship management skills, a strategic approach to market growth, and a proven ability to deliver revenue goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
- Establish a sales strategy for the natural retail channel designed to achieve company annual budget
- Work closely with broker teams to ensure plans are executed successfully and the company annual budget is achieved
- Manage customer category reviews to ensure company products are presented in a timely and appropriate manner to achieve company objectives
- Manage relationships with all distributor and retail customers assigned, to ensure company is professionally represented
- Develop and maintain a clear perspective of all potential opportunities
- Identify and pursue appropriate new opportunities including new customers, distribution, pricing, promotion, and merchandising
- Create, develop and present effective sales presentations
- Provide regular reporting of customer activity and future potential opportunities and risks
- Recommend pricing and promotional initiatives to achieve sales goals and improve company profitability
- Manage all trade spending including planning, tracking and analysis of actual spending vs. budget
- Work with the sales analyst to measure, manage, and optimize promotion performance and ROI
- Capture and report on competitor activity in stores
- Participate in trade shows as required

Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in a broker management position
- 5 years of experience selling CPG brands to natural food retailers and distributors
- Previous experience with retail account management
- 5 years managing a sales and trade promotion budgets
- 3 years working directly with UNFI and/or Kehe Foods distributors
- Excellent customer management skills
- Skilled in market research, analytics, and data-driven decision-making
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Proficiency in operating the SAP ERP system and Vividly strongly preferred
- Outgoing and positive personality for building relationships and driving sales
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline

Location
Remote, with travel to Marina, California required several times per year. Additional travel throughout the United States – via foot, automobile, train and/or airplane will be required as necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
