Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our legal team with in-office tasks related to immigration cases. The Legal Assistant will be primarily responsible for managing document collection, client communication, and preparing final case files in PDF format for attorney review prior to USCIS submission. This is an in-person position reporting to the Managing Attorney and supporting all department leads.

Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve, scan, and file incoming mail.
- Print and review cases or packets, bringing them to USPS or FedEx.
- Maintain office supplies inventory and keep stock levels in check.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing mail
- Communicate promptly with clients regarding receipt of documents such as green cards, work permits, and similar correspondence
- Prepare and send client documents as directed by legal staff
- Collect, organize, and maintain client documents for marriage-based green card, T Visa, VAWA, and asylum cases
- Compile and format final case files in PDF, ensuring all documents are complete, organized, and ready for attorney review prior to USCIS submission
- Manage digital files and records in compliance with firm protocols to support efficient workflow
- Send out occasional client gifts and cards
- Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by firm partners and management
- Participate in firm community events
Requirements
- Prior experience in immigration law preferred
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Proficient in PDF creation tools, case management software, and cloud storage platforms
- Ability to thrive in a high-urgency, fast-paced work environment
Compensation
$21–$25 per hour
