About the Role
The Gatesworth Communities, a premier, award-winning senior living organization in St. Louis, is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Coordinator to support accurate, timely payroll for approximately 500 to 600 employees across five locally owned and operated communities. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this on-site position processes high-volume weekly payrolls in ADP, maintains payroll records, supports compliance and reporting, and serves as a trusted resource for leaders and team members.

Key Responsibilities
Process weekly hourly payrolls in ADP for all operating companies, ensuring accurate, timely pay.
Audit each payroll by reviewing time data and ADP reports for rate discrepancies, unapproved changes, excessive overtime, and unusual activity.
Maintain employee payroll records, including new hire setup, pay and status changes, time-off policies, and direct deposit information.
Manage deductions and garnishments, including benefits, 401(k), meals, uniforms, other withholdings, and garnishments processed through ADP SmartCompliance.
Calculate special pay items, including retroactive pay, shift differentials, bonuses, and final pay, in compliance with FLSA and Missouri wage requirements.
Prepare payroll and workforce reports, including payroll summaries, 401(k) contributions, benefits eligibility, new hire, staffing, and turnover reports.
Support compliance and audits, including PBJ staffing submissions, payroll tax and year-end W-2 processing, general ledger reconciliations, and annual audits.
Serve as a trusted payroll resource for community leaders and employees by responding to payroll questions, employment verifications, and unemployment inquiries.
Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
At least two years of payroll processing experience required, preferably in a high-volume, multi-entity environment with a large hourly workforce.
ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of federal and Missouri wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and garnishments.
Senior living, healthcare, or hospitality experience preferred; FPC or CPP certification a plus.
Intermediate Excel proficiency with strong accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, sound judgment with confidential information, and a dependable, team-oriented approach.
