What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Day Care Aide position at The Gaston Group, LLC?
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
Assist elderly and disabled individuals in activities and functions related to eating, drinking, ambulation, utilizing toilet facilities and taking medications. Monitor the activities and behavior of participants with mental and physical limitations in order to protect them from injury.
Instructs and/or assists participants in performing structured recreational and social activities. Engage and encourage disabled older adults to maximize their functioning potential, both mentally and physically.
Participate in planning and implementation of care plans for participants on a quarterly basis and charting regular progress of participants through written reports. Review progress and care issues with caregivers as needed. Assist with maintenance of program records as required by NC Adult Day Care and Health and Safety Standards and Group Respite requirements.
Monitor symptoms of ill participants in order to initiate necessary medical care from health care professional.
Maintain cleanliness of Center by picking up after participants, cleaning up spills, washing dishes, etc. Plan and prepare nutritious snacks and occasional meals to meet the dietary need of Adult Day Care participants. Help with special events such as Holiday Celebrations, Volunteer Recognition and promoting the program in the community.
Is present and participating in programming to meet the ADC participant to staff ratio requirements as indicated in the NC Adult Day Care and Day Health Services Standards manual. Notifies supervisor of work status in a timely manner to assist in meeting program ratio requirements.
Other duties as assigned to assure the safety and wellbeing of ADC participants and to assure operation of the center in a manner that meets state certification standards.

Candidate selected must present medical evidence that they are free from communicable diseases or conditions after employment offer is extended and prior to employment, as authorized by North Carolina General Statute 131(D) 6 and Section 42(E) of the North Carolina Administrative Code
Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
The selected candidate will need to become certified in CPR and First Aid (training provided).

- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency
- One (1) year of experience in the provision of adult day care services and/or personal care services to disabled adults.
