What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Part-time Every Other Weekend and 1 or 2 days a week - Gardens Assisted Living position at The Gardens?
Luther Park Community has an open part-time housekeeping position at our Gardens Assisted Living facility. This position would work every other weekend and 1 or 2 days a week. We are looking for a self starter that works well as part of a team but is also responsible for their own work. Our Housekeeping crew works independently with each housekeeper having their own assignments but also working as a team to help each other complete all daily tasks in a timely manner.
Job Summary:
Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Director of Assisted Living
Ensure all daily and deep cleaning duties are adhered to
Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene
Ensure all cleaning chemicals are correctly and safely used and stored safely in locked cart
Adhere to correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
Be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents
Adhere to all policies and procedures that pertain to your position and department
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, life 40 lbs., perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed. 90% of your day will be on your feet and walking
Dust, clean and polish all fixtures, furniture, curtains, baseboards, vents, windows, fans, top of door frames, top of windows, etc
Collect and properly dispose of trash
Move furniture and other heavy objects as required to clean
Check all electrical cords on beds and lamps for bare wires and report any issues to facilities
Assist with resident moves and prepare rooms for admissions
Weekend Responsibilities:
Clean common areas on all three floors
Clean two dining rooms after meals
Clean all public restrooms
Collect and properly dispose of trash
Ensure all cleaning chemicals are correctly and safely used and stored in locked cart
Deep clean public areas when necessary

Requirements:
1 year or more experience in housekeeping; preferred but not mandatory
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Must possess good verbal communication skills
Must follow written and verbal direction from supervisor
Must attend all scheduled in-service meetings and/or complete all online classes in a timely manner
Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
