Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Position Summary

The Gardens Senior Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Resident Care Aide to assist residents with personal care, medication administration, daily activities, and other supportive services.

The Resident Care Aide is responsible for helping residents maintain their dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life. This position requires medication administration and direct care for residents in assisted living and memory care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
  • Administer medications according to physician orders, the Medication Administration Record, facility policies, and applicable state requirements.
  • Document medications immediately after administration.
  • Report medication refusals, missed doses, errors, adverse reactions, or other medication concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Assist residents with walking, transfers, repositioning, and mobility devices.
  • Respond promptly to resident call systems, pendants, and requests for assistance.
  • Complete scheduled resident checks and document them accurately.
  • Report falls, injuries, skin concerns, breathing difficulties, changes in appetite, confusion, or other significant changes immediately.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, weights, blood glucose readings, and other assigned health information.
  • Assist residents during meals.
  • Provide compassionate support to residents with dementia, memory loss, or other cognitive impairments.
  • Redirect residents calmly and respectfully when behavioral concerns occur.
  • Maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Assist with laundry, linens, clothing, and resident belongings as assigned.
  • Make beds and ensure residents have clean linens and personal-care supplies.
  • Maintain medication carts, supplies, and care areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Follow emergency procedures, evacuation plans, fall-prevention practices, and workplace safety policies.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, healthcare providers, and facility leadership.
  • Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and competency evaluations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous assisted living, memory care, personal care, or senior-care experience preferred but not requried.
  • Completion of required medication-administration and proxy caregiver training.
  • Ability and authorization to administer medications in accordance with Georgia requirements.
  • Successful completion of required background screening..
  • Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with residents, families, and coworkers.
  • Dependable attendance and willingness to work every other weekend.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or challenging resident behaviors.

Schedule Requirements

This is a full-time, day-shift position. The employee must be available to work every other weekend, assigned holidays, and additional shifts when necessary to support resident-care needs.

Professional Expectations

Resident Care Aides are expected to arrive on time, remain attentive to resident needs, follow the facility dress code, maintain professional conduct, and provide respectful and compassionate care at all times.

Pay: $12.00 - $13.25 per hour
