We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial accounting principles.
This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and providing insights that support strategic decision-making.Duties
- Maintains compliance with GAAP
- Maintains and evaluates internal controls, implementing new controls as needed
- Coordinates internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation, and addresses audit findings promptly, ensuring a clean audit opinion
- Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Performs detailed financial and trend analysis
- Implements accounting systems; searches for ways to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Manages an accounting team, providing mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating development to enhance team productivity
- One to two years of supervisory experience
- Communicates in a professional manner, both verbally and in written form
- Must be able to problem solve independently, be a self-starter, analytical, and have a positive attitude
- Proven experience in financial accounting, auditing, and report writing
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and financial software applications
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information to stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Oversees daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, general ledger posting and maintenance, internal audits, and payroll processing
- Oversees compliance with tax matters, such as 1099 and W2-G reporting
- Manages the month-end closing process, account reconciliations and publishes monthly financial statements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or two to four years related experience
- Intermediate proficiency with accounting software and excel
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is highly desirable
