The Gardens at York Terrace is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records / Ancillary Supply Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility in Pottsville, PA. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate medical records while coordinating the procurement and inventory of ancillary medical supplies to support quality resident care.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the purchasing of ancillary medical supplies, equipment, and services by selecting vendors, obtaining quotes, researching products, and negotiating pricing when appropriate.
Prepare and submit purchase requests and assist with evaluating new products and equipment.
Work closely with the Administrator and department managers to ensure orders are accurate, delivered on time, and any shipping discrepancies or damaged items are resolved promptly.
Process and maintain resident medical records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system, including scanning, batch scanning, quality assurance reviews, indexing, and document retrieval.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations.
Provide clerical support, including filing, faxing, copying, and organizing medical records and departmental documents.
Maintain manuals, logs, inventories, and required documentation.
Safeguard resident privacy by maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
Provide professional and courteous service to residents, families, physicians, and staff.
Qualifications
LPN preferred, but not required.
Previous medical records experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
ICD-10/DX coding experience preferred.
Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic medical record systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
