What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Associate position at The Garden Center by Zanescapes?
The Garden Center by Zanescapes is a full-service plant nursery specializing in everything needed for making one's home or business beautiful inside and out. We are seeking someone that loves plants.
This job is primarily outside as well as inside Greenhouse work. The job includes watering, potting plants, moving plants as well as selling plants and merchandise. You will be outside in the elements for the majority of the day. It does require heavy lifting at times.
Pay based on experience. No cell phone use during work hours (lunch, break and work use are acceptable).
Qualifications:
- plant knowledge is a plus and willing to learn about plants is a must and willing to learn on your own time
- willing to learn and operate skid steer for loading and unloading mulch, pallets, rocks, etc
- experience working outdoors and being in the elements no matter the weather (bring rain coats extra socks if and when needed)
- customer service experience
- ability to self-start and see what needs to be done
- square POS experience a plus
- reliable transportation to and from work
- willing to learn nursery products such as chemical names, rock names, mulch, etc
- standing in one spot potting place for long periods
- ability to lift heavy plant containers, bags etc
- willing to pull weeds around nursery, prune, fertilize, etc
