Duties
- Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, framing, and securing with appropriate hardware.
- Perform repairs on existing garage doors, including replacing broken springs, rollers, cables, and tracks.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for fabrication, installation, and repair tasks with precision and safety.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation or repair procedures.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving large door sections or components on construction sites or customer locations.
- Install glass panels or fixtures in doors as part of customization or repair projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and communicate progress to supervisors effectively.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex garage door systems.
- Experience with construction site work, remodeling projects, or carpentry enhances your versatility.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, caulking guns, and measuring devices.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in various environments.
- Knowledge of electrical systems related to garage door openers and safety sensors.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics for precise installation and repairs.
- Hands-on experience with fixture installation, cabinet work, or metal framing is a plus.
- Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or confined spaces.
