What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Consultant, Negotiation Advisory & Development position at The Gap Partnership?
Help Fortune 500 companies negotiate better.
We're a boutique consultancy in New York City working with Fortune 500 companies across the whole of the Americas. Our work sits at the intersection of negotiation, commercial strategy, capability building and executive development; and we're looking for a Senior Consultant who wants to become a practitioner expert in this space and grow with us.
This is not a traditional consulting role. You won't spend your days building decks. You'll spend a significant amount of your time in front of clients: delivering sophisticated negotiation programs, facilitating executive workshops and simulations, building relationships with senior leaders, and helping clients put better negotiation practices into action.
What you'll do
You don't need "negotiation consultant" on your résumé. You may be a consultant at a strategy firm or boutique; leading commercial excellence, pricing or strategic accounts; managing major customer, supplier or partner relationships; working in procurement or commercial negotiations; leading sales enablement or commercial capability; or driving corporate strategy and growth initiatives.
What matters is what you've done and how you operate:
Travel is a significant part of this role. Much of our work happens on-site with client teams across the U.S. and Canada. If frequent business travel is something you'd prefer to avoid, this probably isn't the right role.
What this role offers
The bottom line
You don't need to arrive as a negotiation expert. You need to arrive with good judgment, presence, curiosity, discipline, commercial instinct and a genuine desire to become excellent at what we do.
Interested? Apply here or send us a note — we'd love to hear what you've negotiated lately.

- Build client relationships. No cold calling; our business grows through relationships, reputation, results and referrals.
- Grow into leadership. In a smaller firm, your path isn't limited by a traditional consulting hierarchy.
