Learn & Play Labs Edutainers lead engaging K-12 S.T.E.A.M Lab experiences.
Job Type: Part-Time / Seasonal (During the school year Sept-June)
Working Hours: Candidates will support various K-12 programs primarily after school taking place weekdays between 2pm and 6pm. Flexible schedules available based on program needs and employee availability.
Location: This is a field-based position serving schools throughout Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and/or Baltimore County, and surrounding Maryland communities. Employees travel to assigned school/program sites based on the weekly schedule.
Pay Rate: $25 - $30 per hour based on experience

Our flagship initiative, Learn & Play, blends S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education with video games and hands-on learning to provide K-12 learners with fun, interactive, and impactful educational experiences. We inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students, helping them develop both academically and socially.

Requirements
Candidates:
must have the ability to commute to sites in their own personal and reliable transportation.
must be willing to commit to training sessions at least once per month.
must be willing to commute to the office or school site for equipment pick-up for their assigned classes.
must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and pass a background check
must be responsible with handling equipment
must be personable and come ready to work and have fun!

Responsibilities
As a Learn & Play team member, you will play a vital role in delivering fun and educational S.T.E.A.M-based lessons and activities to children ages 5-18. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Organizing and facilitating engaging S.T.E.A.M lessons and interactive labs.
- Implementing engaging lesson plans and activities that encourage curiosity and hands-on learning.
- Managing groups of students during sessions, ensuring a positive and safe environment.
- Supporting students in learning while also maintaining order and enthusiasm throughout the program.
- Implement positive behavior management techniques to redirect participants' focus.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Create a structured and positive environment with continuous opportunities for learning and growth.
- Takes direction and feedback with ease and implements tasks with a positive attitude.
- Complete daily administrative duties (i.e. scheduling, attendance, planning for next day, and emailing).
Experience Level
Individuals with prior experience in education, facilitation, or S.T.E.A.M-related fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates who are currently pursuing a degree in education or any S.T.E.A.M field and show strong potential are also inclined to apply.
Desirable Attributes

- Experience in K-12 education, child care, or related fields

- Certifications in CPR/First Aid (preferred).

- A drive to learn a wide range of S.T.E.A.M topics and a willingness to adapt

- Are you comfortable leading a 5–25 student group with a prepared lesson?
- Have you completed 20 college credits (or equivalent) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and/or Math (S.T.E.A.M) subjects or have 1 year or more experience in a S.T.E.A.M related job?
- Do you have your own reliable vehicle? (Getting a ride doesn't count)
- Will you be able to reliably commute to assigned schools in Montgomery, PG, and/or Baltimore county?
License/Certification:
