JOB SUMMARY
The Pastry Cook will be responsible for ensuring the restaurant's high productivity, quality, and customer service standards are maintained.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Report directly to the Pastry Sous Chef
- Display a basic knowledge of pastry techniques and knife skills
- Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries and baked goods according to recipes standards
- Assist in the production of high quality breads, cakes, cookies and other pastry products
- Plate and garnish desserts in an appealing and creative way
- Produce all components for plated desserts, incluiding ice creams and sorbets
- Comfortable working with ovens, placing dough in pans and or molds/sheets and baking productions
- Be able to check the quality of raw materials to ensure that standards are met
- Responsible for properly prepping for, stocking and maintaining assigned stations while upholding proper sanitation standards
- Responsible for completing all opening, mid-shift and closing procedures in a timely manner
- Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
- Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
- At least 2 years of experience in a fast-pace, busy, high volume restaurant
- Attention to detail and high standards for quality
- ServeSafe Food Handler Certificate
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as converse comfortably with guests
- Pay Rate Range: $20.00-$25.00 per hour, commensurate based on experience
