Role Description
The Culinary Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Ojai, CA. The Culinary Director will oversee all aspects of the dining experience, including menu planning, food preparation, and service quality to ensure residents enjoy healthful and exceptional meals daily. The role also involves staff management, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, managing food sourcing and purchasing, and creating balanced and appealing meal plans tailored to the dietary needs of the residents. The Culinary Director will collaborate closely with other departments to ensure that dining remains a core highlight of the community experience.
Qualifications
- Skilled in Cooking and possessing strong Culinary Skills
- Experience with Food & Beverage management and Menu Development
- Knowledge of Purchasing and vendor management processes
- Demonstrates effective leadership and team management abilities
- Familiarity with nutrition and dietary restrictions, particularly for older adults
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Formal culinary training or degree preferred
- Previous experience in senior living, hospitality, or similar environment is a plus
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of food safety and sanitation
