The Gables of Fitchburg Assisted Living Community is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher to join our dining services team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen while supporting food service operations for our residents.
Available Full-Time ShiftsSchedule 1: Sunday – Wednesday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Schedule 2: Thursday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Responsibilities- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish room and kitchen
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen and storage area floors
- Clean and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, shelving, and food storage areas
- Assist with stocking food, supplies, and inventory deliveries
- Support cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Remove trash and recycling and maintain clean waste disposal areas
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with meal service preparation and kitchen closing duties
- Help ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for residents
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Previous kitchen, food service, or dishwashing experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must pass all required background checks and screenings
