What are the responsibilities and job description for the Med Tech/Caregiver (Part-Time) position at The Gables of Blackfoot Assisted Living?
The Gables of Blackfoot Assisted Living is a community for the elderly. We are looking for a competent Med Tech/Caregiver to care for our residents in a professional and compassionate manner. Must be hardworking, honest and reliable.
**We are currently hiring for a part-time Med Tech/Caregiver who is flexible to work both morning (8hr shifts) and evening (8hr shifts) shifts. Must be able to work every other weekend.
**Also looking to hire someone who would be PRN on NOC (10p-6a)
Pay ranges from $14-$15.50/hour based on experience and certifications.
The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You need to be able to follow instructions and assist our residents with activities of daily living.
Caregiver Responsibilities
- Help residents take prescribed medication (Must have Med Certification)
- Assist residents with ambulation and mobility around the community
- Assist residents with personal care and hygiene
- Cooking
- Perform light housekeeping duties that residents can’t complete on their own
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Caregiver Skills
- Proven experience as a caregiver
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- High school diploma or equivalent
Must have First Aid/CPR certification, medication certification, and be able to clear a criminal history background check. We are able to help individuals acquire these certifications if needed.
