Description
The G.A. Avril Company, a closely held family business with over 100 years in the specialty metal alloys manufacturing business is seeking a detail-oriented Office Manager/Bookkeeper to complement our core team. This integral role serves as the first point of contact for our customers and vendors, works with the sales and manufacturing teams to book and process incoming and outgoing orders, and keeps the front office running smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Answering telephone calls and emails from customers and clients and directing them to relevant staff
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including bookkeeping and banking tasks and financial reporting
- Preparing and processing invoices or estimates
- Arranging shipping for incoming and outgoing orders
- Collecting, filing and organizing office documents, such as reports and confidential records
- Managing digital document filing, including encrypted documents and email correspondence
- Sorting and delivering incoming mail and collecting and sending outgoing mail
- Creating and maintaining office budget
- Monitoring office supplies and ordering new materials and equipment as required
- Hours: 6:30am-3pm. Monday-Friday.

- QuickBooks experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports, assign tasks, accept instructions and handle vendor contracts, among other tasks
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including a personable and positive attitude
- Organization and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks
- Good computer skills, including basic troubleshooting and using word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email software applications
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Keen attention to detail
- Flexibility and the ability adjust to new tasks should company or office needs change
- High school diploma or higher
