What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ruby on Rails Developer position at The Future Project Ltd?
About the Engineering Team
You’ll be joining an elite Ruby on Rails engineering group responsible for building, scaling, and owning one of the most sophisticated SaaS platforms in the market today.
The platform is built and operated with a true CI/CD mindset, short release cycles (from hours to days), production deployments multiple times per day, and exceptional test coverage with thousands of automated tests across the stack. This allows the team to move fast without compromising stability or quality.
Engineering culture here is everything:
- Small, high-impact teams where every engineer makes meaningful contributions
- Strong emphasis on problem ownership, creative thinking, and pragmatic decision-making
- Fast iteration, high trust, and real autonomy
- Engineers are deeply involved in architectural decisions, not just implementation
The technology landscape is intentionally diverse and evolving. The team builds modular, highly decoupled systems that interact at scale, constantly refining how the platform is designed and delivered.
Must-Have
- 5 years of full-stack development experience
- Strong startup mindset: adaptable, hands-on, and outcome-driven
- Solid experience building backend applications in dynamic languages (Ruby on Rails and/or Python)
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
- Proven experience leading the development of complex, high-scale, business-critical features
- Ability to assess and balance technical and business implications
