Position Overview
As a Private Duty Nurse, you will provide skilled, individualized nursing care in the patient's home. You will work one-on-one with the client, following their established plan of care while promoting safety, comfort, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care according to the patient's plan of care
- Monitor the patient's condition and recognize changes that may require attention
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Monitor vital signs and other patient-specific needs
- Assist with activities of daily living and other care needs as appropriate
- Accurately document nursing care and changes in the patient's condition
- Communicate appropriately with the patient's family and healthcare team
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Provide dependable, compassionate care throughout the assigned shift
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina LPN or RN license
- Reliable and dependable
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a home setting
- Compassionate and patient-focused
- Ability to follow the patient's plan of care and physician orders
- Previous nursing experience preferred; case-specific experience may be required
