Director's Implementation Coordinator
Friendship Circle – West Bloomfield, MI
Full-time On-site Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM with some Sundays and evenings for events
Job Summary
Friendship Circle is seeking a Director’s Implementation Coordinator: a sharp, experienced executor who thrives on variety, owns their work end-to-end, and finds deep meaning in doing it somewhere that matters. In this role, you’ll work directly alongside our Director, turning vision into action across major events, donor initiatives, organizational operations, and our national Friendship Circle International network.
This isn’t a support role in the background. You’ll have a real seat at the table, close to leadership, trusted with high-stakes projects, and surrounded by a team that shows up with both professionalism and heart. Key Responsibilities
This role is primarily focused on execution, coordination, and ownership across meaningful, high-visibility work — with day-to-day operational tasks woven in along the way. The right person moves fluidly across the full spectrum and brings the same attention and ownership to everything they touch.
Director Support & Vision Execution
- Serve as a direct partner to the Director in executing her vision and day-to-day priorities
- Manage projects, timelines, and task flow across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Create presentations and internal materials
- Support and help facilitate staff meetings
- Work fluidly across all departments within the organization
Friendship Circle International & Events
- Serve as a primary coordination point with Friendship Circle International on shared initiatives
- Oversee organization and tracking of Friendship Circle of Michigan and Friendship Circle International ordering
- Manage planning and execution of major annual events including galas and donor events
- Oversee event logistics, preparation, and day-of execution
- Coordinate vendors, talent, and catering
Donor & Gift Coordination
- Manage ordering, timelines, and execution of donor and holiday gifts
- Support donor deliveries as needed
- Manage vendor relationships in support of donor and gift initiatives
Staff Appreciation & Team Culture
- Coordinate employee anniversaries and appreciation initiatives
- Support staff parties and celebrations
- Assist with conceptual planning and hands-on execution of organizational initiatives
Ongoing Operational Support
- Schedule meetings and coordinate appointments as needed
- Develop agendas for staff and occasional committee meetings
- Organize internal documents and file systems
- Proofread documents and communications
Qualifications
- Proven experience in project coordination, event planning, or operations — nonprofit experience a plus
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing the details
- Able to assess competing priorities quickly and act with urgency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with consistent follow-through
- Comfortable moving between strategic work and hands-on tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience coordinating events of varying scale, including formal galas and donor events
- Proficient with Google Workspace and AI tools; quick to learn and adapt to new technology
- Comfortable working with project management and CRM platforms
- Able to work on campus during scheduled hours
