What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Tutor position at The Friends of Foster Care?
The Friends of Foster Care is looking for General Education and SPED Tutors that can provide academic support to our young people most at-risk of failure. Tutoring typically takes place after the school day, in-person or virtually but we also offer summer sessions. You bring the classroom experience and passion for student success and we’ll offer heartwarming work, flexible schedules and great pay!

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the student’s curriculum
-Provide homework support
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of the student, including those with accommodations
- Utilize learning technologies that enhance instruction and engage students
- Assess student's progress and provide timely tutoring session reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license (or recently retired )
- Experience working with students, preferably in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
