The French Workshop is a fast-paced, high-volume bakery dedicated to providing fresh, high-quality baked goods to our customers. With multiple locations and a growing presence in the community, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and a commitment to excellence.
Our Area Managers are leaders who are detail-oriented, organized, and have great interpersonal skills. They work closely with the managers and supervisors throughout all of the shops in order to maintain the quality of our products, increase sales and profitability, as well as support all operations and training within. Area managers are skilled in creating a strong foundation for the company through effective communication and carefully planned strategies.
- Operational Oversight: Supervise and manage day-to-day operations of multiple bakery shops within the designated area.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, standards, and quality control measures.
- Performance Management: Set performance targets for individual locations and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide guidance and support to store managers to achieve operational and sales goals.
- Training and Development: Conduct training programs for store staff, emphasizing product knowledge, customer service, and operational best practices. Identify areas for skill development and implement training initiatives.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels at each location to ensure optimal stock levels. Implement inventory control measures and minimize waste.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain consistent product quality and presentation across all bakery shops. Conduct regular quality checks and address any issues promptly.
- Customer Experience: Foster a customer-centric culture and ensure excellent customer service standards. Address customer feedback and implement improvements as needed. Reviews of Yelp and other sources
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Manage budgets for each location. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement cost-control measures.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling standards, and other relevant industry regulations. Address any compliance issues promptly.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Work well with others, strong in verbal and written communication, team player who is a “people person” and has the ability to present information concisely and effectively.
Requirements:
- Able to work full-time & in-person: 6 days a week, 8 hour shifts, Monday to Sunday, Holidays, and Weekends as needed
- At least 3 years experience in management
- Must have multi-unit experience within the restaurant & hospitality industry
- Familiar with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Can comfortably travel between all 5 shops (Queens & Long Island)
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
Expectations:
- Since this position is hands-on, Area Managers are expected to work within the shops in order to reach goals together. It is integral to lead and build teams through example, mentorship, and coaching.
- Weekly meetings with upper management must be conducted in order to keep all shops updated and aware of any changes that are implemented to improve efficiency and profit.
Your work week will constantly change based on the current needs of the shops. Area managers must be knowledgeable enough of the status of each shop in order to plan their week accordingly. This may include a variation of early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
