Role Description
This is a full-time, full-contact, full-commitment role for an Associate Criminal Defense Attorney at the Freedom Lawyers. Our main office is located in Marietta, GA, but we have cases ranging from Clayton County up to Bartow and Gwinnett Counties, and from Douglas to Dekalb. Driving from place to place is a part of this position. The role involves traveling from courthouse to courthouse and county to county representing clients in criminal defense cases, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing for trials. You will also be expected to do new client consultations and convert them into clients. The attorney will work closely with clients, engage in case investigations, and participate in court proceedings. The position will include client intake, signing clients, and then representing them through the entirety of the case. We have an amazing reputation for client service, and any applicant afraid of that level of client service should not apply. The position also includes collaborating with the defense team to develop effective legal strategies.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Criminal Defense Law and Criminal Law
- Proficiency in conducting Research and legal analysis
- General Distrust of Police and Police Procedure
- Interest in DUI Law
- Willingness to fight, even when everyone disagrees with you
- Good public speaker
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Burning need to stand up for those facing government persecution
- JD and admission to the Georgia State Bar
- Hate losing more than you like winning
- Defense attorneys who disguised themselves as a prosecutor for a time would be a plus
Salary $85k-$115k commensurate with experience. Commission structure available after 6 months. Bonuses also available if Performance Targets Achieved. Office, Leather Chair, Mac Computer with 2 screens, Laptop, Cell Phone all included. You will have to drive as a part of this job, and will spend a lot of time in the car.
