Job Summary
The Board are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team and drive our fundraising efforts through compelling proposal development. In this role, you will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, crafting persuasive grant proposals, and managing grant-related documentation to support our programs and organizational growth. Your expertise in technical writing, strategic planning, and contract management will be essential in securing vital funding streams. Duties
- Work with Executive Director - Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources and grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Develop, write, and submit comprehensive grant proposals, including narrative sections, budgets, and supporting documents
- Manage grant application processes from initial research through submission, ensuring compliance with all guidelines and deadlines
- Set up Spread sheet to be shared with updates to the Executive Director and Board to track grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with ED to gather necessary information for proposal development and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Proofread and edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and professionalism while maintaining a high standard of technical writing
Experience
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing with a strong portfolio of successful submissions
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies, including donor engagement and grant acquisition techniques
- Experience working with databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM platforms for tracking grants and contacts
- Knowledge of contract management processes related to grants and partnerships
- Strong research skills to identify new funding opportunities across various sectors
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive narratives tailored to diverse audiences
- Skilled in editing, proofreading, and financial report writing to ensure accuracy and professionalism
- Ability to develop program proposals that align with strategic planning and organizational goals
- Experience in budgeting for grants and understanding financial reporting requirements
