Procurement Analyst - Commercial IT/Software

The role:

As Commercial Software Procurement Analyst you will create a framework and map digital and technology processes and contracting best practices across the Commercial regions, focusing across the AZ value chain from Discovery through to Commercialization.

You will work closely with AZ Digital Health team, Business Units, AI Governance teams, category leads and cross-functional teams to support scouting for new digital capabilities. You will work closely with the technology teams, governance team, legal and Enterprise business units to understand software/Saas procurement requirements and best practices. You’ll manage key stakeholder relationships across the business to understand and solve business problems through digital technology.

Typical Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Strategy

• Create a software procurement strategy and playbook incorporating contracting, processes, governance, policy, benchmarks, and sourcing tactics
• Develop insights from internal and external POVs
• Develop, deliver, and forecast annual financial and non-financial targets for the portfolio regionally or globally, including cost savings.
• Identify and map security of supply, brand protection, and risk and governance within the portfolio.
• Provide subject matter expertise in digital healthcare relative to life sciences across global procurement with expertise in process and contracting for software and digital. Provide coaching and guidance across the procurement teams and other teams as required.
• Deliver benefits within sourcing, cost management, supplier relationship management, supplier development, and innovation.
• Lead the mapping of governance within the portfolio, ensuring commercial decisions are aligned with the overall business strategy and up/downstream partners.
• Conduct annual peer reviews of category, region, or market strategies with the Procurement Leadership Team.

Essential skills and experience:

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
• IT procurement category experience in Digital Health, Software, Technology
• Expertise program leadership

Desirable:

• Understanding of multiple aspects of the procurement process and systems
• Experience developing collaboration agreements
• Strong external network in the Digital Health category; Software, Technology
• Strong knowledge base of healthcare digital technology and technical requirements as it relates to internal processes and best practices in procurement
