Job Description:
- Location: Elgin, IL (100% Onsite)
- Payrate: $26/hr W2
- Duration: 4 ½ months contract - possible extension based on performance & budget.
- 2nd Shift: M-F, 02:45pm - 11:00pm. (1st shift Orientation 6.30am)
- Responsible for board-level analysis of failed 2-way subscriber products (both mobile and portable 2-way radios). This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical expertise in testing, diagnosing, and repairing electronic assemblies to identify the root causes of failures.
- Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology is required (Bachelor's preferred).
- Proficiency in operating/setup of electronics equipment (signal generator, modulation/audio analyzers, spectrum analyzer, power meter, oscilloscopes, etc.) is required.
- RF knowledge and 1-3 years of related experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for component-level troubleshooting is a PLUS.
- Extensive knowledge of 2-way subscriber products is a PLUS.
- Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills is required.
- Steel toe boots are mandatory.
- Experience working with mobile and portable 2-way radios strongly preferred.
- Candidates with experience in Government, Military, DoD, Aerospace/ Defense, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Emergency Response industry is a PLUS.
- Analyze rejected electronic assemblies using various test equipment, simulators, and troubleshooting skills.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems, define corrective actions, and communicate findings effectively.
- Identify vendor vs. process defects and write detailed failure analysis reports.
- Record data of failures and explain diagnoses clearly.
- Work independently and adapt to varying conditions.
- Support factory operations on weekends when required.
