Trademark Paralegal Responsibilities & Duties

• Conducting trademark searches and performing clearance analysis
• Drafting and filing trademark applications, statements of use, and renewal documents
• Preparing and responding to Office Actions and Notices of Opposition
• Monitoring and managing the status of trademark portfolios
• Preparing and submitting evidence in support of opposition and cancellation proceedings
• Providing support to attorneys during litigation
• Assisting in the enforcement of trademark rights
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using docketing systems
• Managing correspondence with clients and foreign associates
• Staying up-to-date on changes in trademark law and regulations

Trademark Paralegal Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
• Previous experience working in intellectual property or trademark law
• Strong understanding of the USPTO’s Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
• Familiarity with international trademark registration processes
• Experience with trademark management software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 3 years of experience as a trademark paralegal or equivalent
• Strong understanding of USPTO procedures and trademark law
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and trademark docketing software
