Summary: The Nurse Practitioner provides high-quality medical services as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Primary duties are related to providing appropriate medication and supportive management to opioid use disordered clients. Additional services provided will include but are not limited to: Basic medical care for all TFC clients and family members, medication management for minor behavioral health issues, and employee health services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Obtains and documents accurate patient(s) health history including medical, social, and psychological needs
- Follows established agency medication protocols for treatment opioid use disordered clients
- Diagnoses and manages preventive and acute, healthcare conditions as indicated specific to your area of practice
- Provides appropriate patient education
- Emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention
- Performs procedures as indicated specific to your area of practice
- Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures; communicates results to patient(s) in a timely manner
- Discusses assessments, prognosis, and treatment options with patient(s) to develop acceptable, affordable, and culturally sensitive treatment plans
- Consults with and refers to other healthcare clinicians when indicated
- Committee participation and meeting attendance
- Emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention
- Prescribes medications, treatment modalities, and durable medical equipment as indicated by health condition
- Participates in both professional and lay healthcare forums, conducts research, and applies findings to clinical practice as indicated
- Other duties as assigned
Marginal Duties: This position is an integral member of a multidisciplinary team providing primarily medication assisted treatment. This position requires a positive attitude and plays a leadership role within the department and agency as a whole.

Qualifications/ Competencies:
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Masters or Doctorate degree
· Licensed as a registered nurse and as an APRN by the South Carolina Board of Nursing
· Certified by a national credentialing board
· Certified by specialty/ DEA Buprenorphine Waiver required
· Must complete continuing education and professional development beyond formal education as outlined by certifying body
Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
