General Responsibilities:
Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. Install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data.
Essential Job Duties:
Fundamental knowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for assistance, and evaluation of a customer’s satisfaction.
Analyze and evaluate data, identify issues in documentation, and suggest solutions.
Strong organizational skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and ability to complete work tasks thoroughly.
Ability to make mathematics calculations and tabulations accurately. Analyze, compare, and interpret facts and figures.
Ability to complete various tasks simultaneously under time constraints and stressful situations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to listen to and discuss facts and concerns from clients, managers, and other stakeholders.
Maintain continued proficiency in using technology and software applications, including but not limited to office suite, database, project planning, accounting, and electronic storage software.
Knowledge of the Firm’s policies and procedures.

General Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct a systematic and comprehensive examination and appraisal of financial records, financial and management reports, management controls, policies, and practices affecting or reflecting an activity's financial condition and operating results.
- Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
- Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
- Applies audit sampling techniques, analyzes internal controls, and examines financial records, procedures, and administrative controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and program policies.
- Assists supervisor, including accumulating data, maintaining records, preparing reports, and other assigned activities.
- Ensures production progress, quality control, and efficient use of time and resources.
- Prepare working papers and draft audit reports, ensuring policy conformance, professional tone, clear facts, and conclusions are adequately supported.
- Prepares audit reports to provide information on program operations and to identify causes of deficiencies or problems.
- Recommends corrective actions such as modifying management systems, financial and accounting systems, workflow, lines of authority, and other corrective actions.
- Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries.

Education and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration from an accredited college or university or equivalent education or work experience is required. Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or Master of Accountancy (MAcc) preferred.
- A national accounting certificate or a Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing is desired.
- Three (3) years of audit experience in a public accounting firm is preferred.
- Demonstrate a general knowledge and use of QuickBooks Online.
- Demonstrate a general understanding and use of Breeze project management or similar software.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of audit-specific software, Thomson Reuters Advance Flow preferred.
