TITLE: Retail Rescue/ CDL B Driver – Warehouse Associate CLASSIFICATION: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Benefit Eligible SUPERVISOR: Chief Operations Officer ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger-relief network that brings together community resources to share tens of millions of pounds of food with neighbors each year. Our highly collaborative team believes that empowerment, education and partnerships are key to getting food into the hands of those who need it most. With the help of 145 partner agencies, nearly 200 school partners and more than ten thousand volunteers, our day-to-day efforts help feed nearly 100,000 neighbors each month across our 32-county area. • Lift 70 pounds frequently on a recurrent basis
• Load and unload deliveries with lifts and equipment
• Will be in and out of the truck frequently with multiple delivery/pickup sites each day
• Safely operate a forklift and obtain forklift certification (we provide on-the-job training if needed)
• Utilize electric and manual pallet jacks
• Interact with respect and stewardship with volunteers, partners, donors and team members
  
  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• CDL B License
• be committed to safety practices as a driver and in a warehouse environment
• have a safe driving history
• possess basic computer skills for daily data entry
• be adaptable to consistently changing job duties
• have good oral and written communication skills
• be able to perform and calculate basic math
• be comfortable instructing individuals and groups
• be highly sensitive to the needs of the low-income community
• take initiative and be able to solve problems
• have the ability to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks at once
• welcome collaboration and work as a team
• have good customer service skills
• Food Handler’s permit or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of employment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
  
  

DUTIES :

• Responsible for the scheduled operation of The Food Bank’s Fleet Vehicles
• Ensure orders from The Food Bank, local donors and food pick-up routes are picked up promptly and on schedule
• Maintain records of food picked up on routes
• Collaborate on warehouse storage and shelf stocking
• Uphold the Core Values of The Food Bank while carrying out duties and responsibilities
• Build and maintain relationships with Retail Partners
• Practice Food Safety Principles, including proper temperature reading, while carrying out duties
• Wear required uniform and steel-toe shoes
• Mobile Pantry Drivers will stock and load trucks and then travel to sites
• Delivery Drivers will verify orders are pulled in accordance with the pick sheet before leaving
• All paperwork to be returned to the appropriate team member promptly
• Warehousing is a responsibility of all drivers with a shared task list by practicing safe food handling and warehouse safety principles
• Maintain accurate inventory counts
