What are the responsibilities and job description for the Box Office Coordinator position at The Flying Monkey Theatre?
The Box Office Coordinator plays a major role in the overall guest experience as the first point of contact for all ticket sales and guest inquiries. They must be friendly, outgoing, organized, and possess good communication skills with the ability to think and act quickly while maintaining composure under pressure. Duties include being on-site for weekly box office hours for guest support and ticket sales, providing information to guests on theatre seating, pricing, policies, promotions, and upcoming shoes, and assisting with marketing and administrative projects to support management.
Essential Functions
Box Office Operations: Staff the box office during office hours and shows for all guest inquires and ticket sales. Manage the fmboxoffice@thecman.com inbox and all box office related voicemails. Be present in the lobby for guest check-in from doors open to show start and during intermissions. Keep box office clean and well organized.
Customer Service: Provide guests with friendly, helpful, and fast service for a positive experience and problem solve when needed for guest retention. Uphold Common Man’s high standards and deliver WOW service.
Event Coordination: Assist with event setup including ticket links, prices, seating charts, and other event details.
Ticket Sales & Transactions: Complete ticket sales transactions and ticket printing, monitor seat inventory and allocation, and ensure the security of all box office cash and equipment.
Movies & Films: Enforce ratings to keep underage guests from accessing shows with adult content. Distribute and understand how to operate assisted movie going equipment. Learn in-house projection and audio systems with guidance from AV Production Support to provide a backup resource when they’re not available to run sound/audio on movie nights.
Administrative Support: Assist with other functions as instructed by the Assistant GM & General Manager including reporting, research, and maintenance duties.
Marketing Support: Maintain and update marquee signage after each show, manage the print and distribution of show posters and brochures, and update in-house digital screens and menu boards. Interest in creating content to support social media marketing a plus.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
