What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Crew Member – Flower Farm position at The Flower Hat?
We are a production-focused flower farm looking for individuals who are willing to work hard, stay focused, and take pride in doing physical work well.
This role involves 8–10 hour workdays outdoors in full sun, heat, wind, and changing weather conditions. The work is repetitive, fast-paced, and requires efficiency, attention to detail, and consistency.
We work around the plants’ schedule—not a typical 9–5. This includes early mornings, long days, and weekend work during peak season (June–September).
If you are looking for something similar to hiking, being outdoors recreationally, or a relaxed summer job, this is not the right fit.
Responsibilities:
- Planting, weeding, and harvesting crops
- Bed preparation, fertilizing, and irrigation work
- Post-harvest processing and organization
- General farm maintenance and cleanup
We are looking for individuals who:
- Show up consistently and on time
- Work with urgency and efficiency
- Take initiative without being told
- Can handle physically demanding work for extended periods
- Care about doing excellent work, even when no one is watching
Compensation:
$15–$20/hour depending on experience and performance
Schedule:
- 8–10 hour shifts, usually 7a-3p ish during peak season(July- September) and, 9a-5pm ish in off season (April-June)
- Weekend availability required and flexible
Hiring Process:
Selected candidates will be asked to complete a paid 4-hour trial shift before final hiring.
