Job Summary:


Crisis Manager will be responsible for the safety and well-being of all clients on campus. Crisis Manager is responsible for assisting in the coordination of residential services and providing professional treatment and care to adolescents. The Crisis Manager will assist direct care in consistently following the schedule to ensure that structure and a trauma informed environment is maintained. The position will be responsible for environmental safety in all campus buildings and will respond to provide additional support to clients and staff as needed to de-escalate crisis, assist with transitions, cover break times for other staff members, or work with clients that need supervision and support. The position will provide additional support on the residential floors to assist with ratio and safety concerns, should they arise. The crisis manager member always promotes and enhances a client-centered and goal supportive environment.


Essential Functions:


  • Closely supervise residents at the facility and during transitions; ensure that any hostilities are de-escalated and prevented whenever possible. This position will be part of the ratio during business hours as needed for youth/staff ratio compliance and in ratio for emergency/crisis situations as assigned by management.
  • Ensure that the daily schedule is followed for both programs.
  • The Crisis Manager will work shifts in ratio to cover for direct care staff absences.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new direct care staff and be available to answer any questions that they may have. Coordinate with HR to ensure that staff are properly trained in all areas of their jobs.
  • Will take the lead during crisis situations. This includes contacting DCS, parents and agency staff anytime a serious incident occurs. Will fully complete the SIR (serious incident report) and provide it to the Case Manager in a timely matter so that information will be entered.
  • Will support direct care staff during group time. This includes ensuring that group material and documentation is printed and ready before the group time is to occur. The Crisis Manager may also assist when Young Life, Yoga, Pet Therapy, or any other outside person is leading group to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Will supervise direct care staff and meet with them regularly to help develop techniques and tools that may be used on the floor to provide a trauma informed environment.
  • Exhibit a respectful, caring, and understanding attitude toward all clients and their families. Serve as a positive role model.


Schedule:
The Crisis Manager will work 1:30p-12a, four days per week or 3:30p-12a, five days per week as assigned. The Crisis Manager must be available to work on weekends and on some holidays.


Job Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree preferred or 2-3 years' experience working with at risk youth; must possess strong organizational and communication skills. Prefer experience with at-risk youth and behavior management skills. Must have efficiency in Word and Outlook.


Physical Requirements (BFOQ):


  • Able to walk and/or run at least 1 mile continuously.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds without injury
  • Possess average to above visual and auditory capabilities in the supervision of adolescents
  • Be physically capable of meeting Handle with Care (restraint) training and application requirements
  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods, oftentimes standing and walking for majority of shift.
  • Able to squat, bend, stoop, jump and/or climb steps/stairs as necessary without risk of injury
  • Work extended hours as needed (>40 per week)
