Position: Elementary Aftercare Aide
Responsible to: Preschool Director
Responsibilities:
▪ Assist in the implementation of the daily program of the elementary aftercare program
▪ Assist in the planning and preparation of activities for elementary students
▪ Supervise elementary students
▪ Help with the general set-up and clean-up to maintain the daily routine
▪ Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the preschool
▪ Treat the children, family members, and staff with dignity and respect
▪ Attend all staff meetings and required training programs as needed
▪ Maintain confidentiality about all children, family members and preschool employees
▪ Supervise outside playground activities as needed
▪ Follow directions of the Preschool Director
▪ Communicate with elementary students and families on a regular basis (ex. Class DoJo, greeting families during arrival and dismissal)
▪ Arrive on time and work through the scheduled hours. Hours vary based on duties.
▪ Assist students with homework or other school related activities while attending the aftercare program
▪ May on occasion be required to perform duties other than those specifically listed in this description
Time Required: 17.5 to 20 hours/week, Monday through Friday 2-5:30 pm
Qualifications/Special Skills:
Relates well to all ages; exhibits passionate faith and energetic personality; passion for reaching and discipling children and families; strong desire to serve God through the ministry of the Preschool; current technology skills; understanding and support of the United Methodist church
Pay: $17.00 per hour
