Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Use hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and scaffolding to apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty finishes.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific surface requirements.
- Perform residential and commercial painting tasks on walls, ceilings, trim carpentry including molding and fixtures installation, stucco application, masonry work, and restoration projects.
- Execute detailed tasks such as drywall finishing (including plastering), caulking gaps or joints, framing repairs, and masonry touch-ups to ensure seamless results.
- Assist with renovation projects by handling demolition cleanup, basic carpentry like trim carpentry or frame carpentry repairs, and maintaining the overall construction site safety.
- Apply industrial painting techniques when required for large-scale or specialized projects involving concrete finishing or welding-related coatings.
- Maintain all tools—including hand tools and power tools—ensuring they are in excellent working condition for consistent quality output.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting across residential, commercial, or industrial sites with a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and schematics related to renovation or remodeling projects.
- Familiarity with various painting techniques including airless spray application and traditional brush/roller methods.
- Knowledge of color theory principles to select appropriate finishes that enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Hands-on experience with plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, drywall finishing (including sanding), fixture installation, restoration work and basic carpentry skills such as trim or frame carpentry.
- Ability to operate hand tools like scrapers or putty knives as well as power tools including drills or sanders confidently.
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and estimating material quantities effectively.
- Previous construction site experience demonstrating adaptability in diverse environments such as renovation projects or maintenance tasks.
