Essential Job Functions
- Expected to market ideas to promote business, and is also responsible for acting as a liaison between client and operating departments to ensure a successful meeting and to generate repeat business as well as assisting with booking business when needed.
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current and potential clients.
- Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
- Manage accounts ensuring pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
- Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
- Manage existing accounts and follow up with client re-solicitation to capture future business,
- Responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned group business after it is booked by the sales department, and through completion of the event or function, while maintaining profitable operations and high-quality products and service levels.
- Create, review and revise rooming lists, VIPs and all other group information for distribution amongst hotel operational departments.
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Articulate and leverage the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities.
- Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
- Represent hotel at trade shows.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
- Perform other duties as requested by management, specifically within the sales process and answering leads when needed.
Position Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related industry preferred.
- Proven experience in hospitality sales and/or sales management strongly preferred
- Familiarity with sales and hotel management software (ie. Delphi, InFor, etc.)
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
