ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides phlebotomy services (blood draws) for patient labs.
- Provides clinical care consistent with physician orders and departmental policies and procedures.
- Assists with call backs, telephones prescriptions to pharmacies as directed by physician.
- Documents patient care in patient medical record.
- Schedules patients in an organized and efficient manner, utilizing knowledge of practice patterns and protocols to promote effective use of physicians while minimizing patient delays.
- Cleans and supplies exam rooms. Ensures sterility of procedure rooms and instruments. Assures compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, HIPAA, and other quality assurance standards.
- Performs various front office support services such as registering patients, assembling and maintaining charts, and filing if needed.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively and efficiently under deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Practice Administrator, Clinical Coordinator
- Communicates, collaborates, and seeks out opportunities to provide service to patients, physicians, staff, and others in a courteous manner.
- Registered (RMA/CMA) graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- One-year Medical Assistant experience required.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information requiring discretion and independent decision making.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively and efficiently under deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
- Registered (RMA/CCMA) graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
