Accounting Specialist - South Burlington, VT

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our South Burlington based accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices; proficiency in financial software is preferred. This is an in-person Monday-Friday full-time office position.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine data entry for accounting records.
• Identifies discrepancies and ensures accuracy in financial reporting.
• Issues payments to vendors as approved.
• Processes routine monthly payments.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, and reconciles accounts.
• Reviews and tracks bank transactions.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Manages purchasing and invoicing systems.
• May assist in payroll processing.
• May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks, as assigned.
• Collaborates with team members to enhance financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits and credits, as well as general ledger management.
• Proficiency in using financial software tools for reporting and analysis is essential.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy are critical for success in this role.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
