Position SummaryThe Assistant Food & Beverage Director supports the Food & Beverage Director in the daily management and coordination of all food and beverage operations at The Farms Golf Club. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional service in the Grille, Locker Rooms, and other dining outlets, maintaining operational efficiency, and fostering positive member and guest experiences. The Assistant Food & Beverage Director supervises select staff, manages inventories, assists with events, and provides leadership in training and performance management.Job Tasks/DutiesOperational Oversight:Supervise the Grille to ensure exceptional customer service to members and guests, overseeing servers to provide service that meets and exceeds expectations.Supervise Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms to ensure satisfactory operation; Shoe Attendant reports directly to this position.Order all locker room amenities and supplies for both Locker Rooms, coordinating with the Shoe Attendant.Track and record monthly stock inventory of liquor, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages for each club dining outlet.Receive and log all invoices for liquor, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and locker room supply purchases.Perform both opening and closing duties of Server and/or Bartender in dining outlets, including the Dining Room, Men’s Grille, and Snack Bar.Attend weekly staff meetings.Event and Banquet Support:Manage front-of-house staff for banquet events.Manage set-up and breakdown for all events.Complete periodic china, glass, and silverware inventories.Attend wine tasting events and foster professional relationships with wine purveyors.Assist in organizing Wine Tasting Events at the club, facilitating member wine purchases and coordinating delivery.Assist Food & Beverage Director in banquet sales and event bookings.Staff Management and Training:Assist Food & Beverage Director in initial and ongoing training of Food & Beverage staff members.Support the Food & Beverage Director in enforcing staff conduct and disciplinary actions per the Employee Handbook.Back up bi-weekly payroll processing, including addressing meal penalties, time adjustments, and time-off entries.Develop, maintain, and implement standard operating procedures.Member and Guest Experience:Regularly greet members and guests to enhance visibility and engagement.Monitor service delivery and address complaints or issues promptly.Keep the Food and Beverage Director informed of actions taken to resolve concerns.Member and Committee Support:Manage and plan WGA events in coordination with the Food & Beverage Director.Supports committees as needed.Responsible for long-range planning for the department in concert with the club’s planning process.Completes other appropriate assignments from the Food and Beverage Director.Performs other duties as assigned, requested, and deemed necessary by management.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Two or four-year College or University degree in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts.Minimum 2 years or more as a food and beverage manager in a similar position preferably in a full-service private country club.Alcohol awareness trainingCertified ServSafe manger/ Food Handler ManagerResponsible Beverage Service CertificationSkills and Competencies:Strong leadership and team-building skills.Proven experience managing dining operations and events in a multi-outlet environment.Event PlanningExcellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.Point of Sale systems knowledgeWork Conditions:Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.Work occurs in both indoor and outdoor environments.Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Regular physical activity including bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking long distances.Must thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal volume environment.Salary and Benefits:Salary range $75,000-$85,000 annually (based on experience)Health, dental, and vision insurance401 (k) retirement planPaid time off and holidaysGolf privilegesEmployee meals
