Duties
- Mow, trim, and edge lawns using riding or push mowers, ensuring even coverage and healthy turf growth
- Operate agricultural tractors, lawn equipment, and power tools safely and efficiently for routine maintenance tasks
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and prevent water wastage
- Perform minor repairs on equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems; assist with larger repairs including welding or mechanical fixes when needed
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks by managing outdoor enclosures, ensuring safe grazing areas, and supporting livestock handling activities
- Conduct regular safety inspections of outdoor areas, fences, and equipment to adhere to safety standards in production
- Support farm maintenance operations by handling manual tasks such as heavy lifting, manual handling of materials, and using hand tools or power tools for repairs
Requirements
- Proven experience working outdoors in farm or horticultural environments with a strong understanding of farming practices
- You must have reliable transportation.
- Clean driving record is mandatory.
- This is a drug free environment.
- Familiarity with farm machinery operation including agricultural tractors, heavy equipment operation, and equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of animal care practices related to livestock management and equine handling
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, welding, and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently in outdoor settings
- Strong understanding of safety standards in agricultural production environments
- Excellent organizational skills with basic math proficiency for measurements and calculations related to irrigation or horticulture projects
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all tasks
