Family Support Center of Ogden (FSCO) | Ogden, Utah

Position Type: Part-time

About Family Support Center of Ogden

Family Support Center of Ogden is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse through education, supportive services, and community partnerships. For more than 45 years, we have worked to help children and families thrive by providing resources, crisis support, parenting education, and family-centered services throughout Northern Utah.

We believe that strong families build strong communities, and we are working to expand our services to include additional mental health and therapeutic support for the families we serve.

Position Overview

Are you a licensed therapist who is passionate about helping families, strengthening communities, and creating access to mental health services? Do you enjoy sharing your expertise, collaborating with community partners, and building something meaningful beyond a traditional clinical practice?

Family Support Center of Ogden is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and entrepreneurial therapist to help us develop and grow a therapy program within our nonprofit organization.

This position offers an opportunity to combine clinical expertise with program development, community education, advocacy, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will be excited to help shape a developing program, establish community connections, participate in panel discussions and public presentations, and help FSCO expand its impact on children and families.

Key Responsibilities

Therapy Program Development

  • Collaborate with FSCO leadership to design and develop a sustainable therapy program that meets the needs of children, parents, caregivers, and families.
  • Help identify priority populations, service needs, therapeutic approaches, and potential referral pathways.
  • Assist with developing program policies, procedures, service models, and outcome measures.
  • Identify opportunities for grants, community partnerships, and other resources to support program growth.
  • Help establish a vision for integrating therapeutic services with FSCO's existing family support and child abuse prevention programs.

Clinical Services

  • Provide therapeutic services within the scope of professional licensure and demonstrated expertise.
  • Help determine appropriate service delivery models, such as individual therapy, family therapy, group sessions, or workshops.
  • Support trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and family-centered approaches to care.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation, confidentiality, and professional standards.

Community Engagement and Education

  • Represent FSCO at community panels, conferences, stakeholder meetings, and professional networking events.
  • Participate in panel discussions and presentations on topics such as childhood trauma, family well-being, parenting, adverse childhood experiences, mental health, and child abuse prevention.
  • Develop and deliver educational workshops for parents, caregivers, staff, and community partners.
  • Build relationships with local therapists, healthcare providers, schools, social service agencies, and other organizations.
  • Help increase awareness of FSCO's services and the importance of accessible mental health care for families.

Collaboration and Program Growth

  • Work closely with FSCO leadership and program staff to identify opportunities to better support families.
  • Help establish referral relationships and collaborative service opportunities.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements as services expand.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to support the organization's broader family-strengthening mission, as appropriate to the position.

Qualifications

  • Current Utah license as a mental health therapist or other appropriately credentialed behavioral health professional, such as an LCSW, or equivalent license authorized to provide the proposed services.
  • Experience working with children, parents, caregivers, couples, or families preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, family systems, child development, and mental health needs preferred.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills, with an interest in participating in panels, workshops, and community presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate with nonprofit leadership, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in program development, community outreach, and expanding access to mental health services.
  • A passion for FSCO's mission of strengthening families and preventing child abuse.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique?

This is an opportunity to help build something meaningful. Rather than stepping into a fully established clinical department, you will have the opportunity to help shape a program from the ground up, bring your professional expertise into the community, and contribute to a nonprofit's long-term vision for family well-being.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Help create and shape a new therapy program.
  • Share your expertise through panels, presentations, and community education.
  • Build partnerships with local providers and organizations.
  • Make a direct contribution to child abuse prevention and family strengthening.
  • Help families access supportive services in a welcoming, mission-driven environment.
