The Communication & Outreach Manager is responsible for strengthening community awareness, engagement, and collaboration for Family Counseling Center of Fulton County, Inc. programs and services. This position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, municipalities, schools, and partner agencies to increase visibility of services and improve access to behavioral health resources within the community.

The role serves as a liaison between the agency and external partners through educational presentations, community events, tabling opportunities, partnership development, internal communication initiatives, social media engagement efforts, and brand storytelling in collaboration with the marketing team. This role also serves as an agency brand champion, helping communicate the organization’s mission, values, impact, and community story across outreach and communication platforms.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Social Work, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach, behavioral health, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, education, communications, or program coordination preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and communication platforms
  • Knowledge of behavioral health services and community resources preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Commitment to cultural competence, equity, inclusion, and ongoing professional development

Requirements

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to travel throughout the service area as needed
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and Medicaid exclusion screenings

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent the agency at community events, health fairs, school functions, and outreach/tabling events.
  • Promote and reinforce the organization’s mission, values, culture, and community impact through outreach and communication efforts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to highlight program successes, community partnerships, client impact initiatives, and organizational events.
  • Provide educational presentations regarding agency programs, behavioral health services, community initiatives, and referral processes.
  • Promote awareness of agency services through outreach materials, networking opportunities, community engagement activities, and social media platforms.
  • Assist with developing, coordinating, and maintaining social media content that promotes agency programs, services, events, and community initiatives.
  • Support internal communication efforts to improve awareness of agency programs, services, and events across departments.
  • Assist in identifying community needs and opportunities for partnership development and program expansion.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, community coalitions, and collaborative planning efforts.
  • Maintain records related to outreach activities, partnership contacts, social media engagement efforts, and event participation in accordance with agency standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership and program staff to develop outreach strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stay informed on community resources, behavioral health trends, outreach strategies, branding practices, and CCBHC standards relevant to outreach activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This position involves a combination of office-based work and community-based activities, including travel to schools, community organizations, and outreach events throughout the service area. Occasional evening or weekend events may be required.
