Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role involves performing custodial tasks, floor care, and general maintenance duties across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Qualifications
- Foster a high-quality relationship with all staff, volunteers, & re-occurring vendors/visitors.
- Self-motivated individual with excellent customer service skills & a high capacity in multi-tasking.
- Ability to take initiative in prioritizing assigned work & projects.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision needed.
- Physical stamina to handle various cleaning tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Perform floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas including entrances and walkways.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling duties.
- Able to lift and organize tables/chairs for various events and services.
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Report any repairs or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support overall facility operations.
Experience
- Previous experience in custodial services or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning techniques and equipment is a plus.
- Skills in buffing floors and performing industrial cleaning tasks are highly desirable.
- A strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness is essential.
