Fairgrounds Golf Course is a lively 9-hole course and full practice facility located in the heart of Santa Rosa, on the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. We’re a local favorite—known for being welcoming to beginners, friendly to families, and a great place for experienced golfers to sharpen their short game. With an active driving range powered by TopTracer, practice green, and steady daily play, this is a golf facility that’s busy year-round and plays an important role in our community.
We’re looking for a Head Golf Professional who can help us continue to build on that energy. Someone who loves being part of a place where golf is fun, approachable, and a little less stuffy.

What You'll Do:
Lead the Daily Golf Operations- Oversee tee sheet management, cart operations, pro shop sales, and practice facilities.- Ensure a smooth flow on busy days with a steady hand and great communication.- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team—leading by example and creating a great experience for every guest.
Inspire the Team- Provide clear direction, encouragement, and support to a capable operations staff.- Keep the energy positive, the expectations clear, and the teamwork strong.- Build a culture where friendly service and a sense of humor are just as important as efficiency.
Keep the Course Sharp- Help direct the maintenance team on a daily basis, ensuring that they are fully compliant with all workplace guidelines and regulations. Find opportunities for enhanced maintenance and improvement.
Engage the Community- Create and manage fun tournaments, themed events, and partner promotions.- Foster relationships with local schools, businesses, and fairgrounds events.- Help make Fairgrounds Golf Course feel like the heart of Santa Rosa golf.
Retail & Merchandising- Manage a tidy, welcoming pro shop with smart inventory and simple displays.- Offer products that golfers actually want—and keep the shop friendly for both new and seasoned players.
Use Tools & Tech to Stay Organized- Keep things running smoothly with smart use of tee sheet software, POS systems, and operational checklists.- Look for small ways to make big improvements without over-complicating the vibe.
What We’re Hoping You Bring:
- 2-3 Years Experience in golf operations or management. If you have no working golf experience, no problem, but you must be a golfer.
- A passion for welcoming beginners to the game and creating a relaxed, inclusive golf environment.
- A leadership style that’s hands-on, encouraging, and team-focused.
- Ability to balance busy daily operations with player development, retail, and guest engagement.
- Tech-savvy enough to run a tee sheet and manage a pro shop, but focused on people first.
- A strong communicator who brings out the best in others and keeps things positive.
