What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Project Superintendent position at The Fain Group, Inc.?
The Civil Project Superintendent manages all direct project activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and foremen whether directly or indirectly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review and enforce all project schedules for the timely completion of the project. Communicates any updates directly to the Project Manager.
- Complete daily reviews to ensure accuracy of time sheets for our personnel assigned to the project through Exaktime software.
- Complete superintendent reports with daily information including site activities, subcontractors, quantities, jobsite visitors, and items of interest.
- Complete daily production reports and communicate results to the Project Manager.
- Attend weekly production meetings to provide requirements for the project including equipment usage, manpower needs and remaining work to be completed.
- Ensure the proper use of all equipment and small tools. Will take immediate corrective action for employees that are misusing equipment or tools.
- Ensure that labor utilization is the most efficient for each task being performed.
- Calculate daily and monthly quantity completions for use in the pay estimate cycle.
- Communicates to the Project Manager when subcontractors and suppliers are required to fulfill the timely completion of the project.
- Communicates with all subcontractors and suppliers in a timely manner as to when they will be required for the project.
- Directs and manages foremen and project subcontractors to ensure that work performed meets specifications and required quality levels
- Keeps the Project Manager informed on the status of potential delays or anticipated problems impacting the project schedule.
- Meets with the Project Manager to resolve any issues arising throughout the project.
- Works to improve construction efficiencies and techniques to improve productivity.
- Review plans and inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to the plans, details, specifications, and the level of quality expected from all Fain projects and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and suggests adjustments to the schedule and direction of work.
- Obtains material tickets, codes tickets and turn in tickets on a maximum of weekly basis.
- Reviews daily production reports and job budgets to ensure profitability.
- Conducts work habits according to the safety policies and practices of The Fain Group Inc.
- Strategize with the Project Manager to find methods that will help reduce costs on activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Experience in concrete paving construction required
SKILLS REQUIRED
Minimum 5 years of experience in direct project supervision.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and allocate resources as needed.
Ability to determine production costs.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
