Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing human resources activities and fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace. This role involves planning and administering policies related to various phases of human resources, office management, and benefit administration.
Primary Responsibilities Include
- Identify legal requirements and ensure compliance with government reporting regulations.
- Recruit, interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions.
- Maintain records of benefits plans participation such as insurance plans, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Conduct conversations with leadership and employee regarding performance improvement plans, write-ups, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Advise management on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues regarding employees.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administer benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Investigate accidents and submit reports to insurance carriers.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Maintain all employee personnel files.
- Oversee the daily operations of the administrative functions, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with company policies.
- Plan and coordinate office events, meetings, and companywide training events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and/or Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a human resources role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational abilities and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
