Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary vision tests (visual acuity, visual field, autorefraction)
- Take patient medical histories and document in EHR system
- Assist with contact lens fittings and teach proper care techniques with insertion and removal
- Conduct diagnostic tests (e.g., tonometry, retinal imaging)
- Manage front desk tasks: scheduling, phone calls, check-in/out
- Maintain accurate patient records and charts
- Process insurance claims and handle basic medical billing
- Provide excellent customer service and support patients with questions
- Assist with eyewear and contact lens retail sales
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar healthcare/retail role preferred but not required
- Knowledge of insurance billing and medical coding is a plus
- Comfort with basic retail sales and math helpful
- Experience with pediatric patients is a bonus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, flexible, and a team player
- Fluent in Spanish is helpful but not required

Schedule
- Must be available 2-3 days a week/20-30 hours
- Day off during the week- Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday most weeks
- Must be available Mondays, Fridays and ALL Saturdays!
