Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Las Vegas, NV. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage vision conditions, and prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and other appropriate treatments. Daily responsibilities include evaluating ocular health, identifying and co-managing medical eye conditions with other healthcare professionals, and maintaining accurate, compliant patient records. The role involves educating patients about eye health, treatment options, and preventive care, as well as collaborating with clinical and front-office staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive experience. The Optometrist will also support practice growth by participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to a professional, inclusive work culture.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and active optometry license (or eligibility) in the state of Nevada.
- Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings and treatment plans in clear, accessible terms.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, including empathy, professionalism, and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, support staff, and other clinicians to maintain efficient workflows and high standards of care.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including accurate documentation and adherence to clinical and regulatory guidelines.
- Comfort with basic practice technology and electronic health records; willingness to learn new systems and tools as needed.
- Prior experience in a clinical optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
